I’m Kris Briganti and have been a fitness guru in the west Denver and Golden area for 20+ years. I taught fitness classes and was a personal trainer at the Golden Community Center before opening my own studio in Golden in 2015. After closing my studio in 2022, I returned to the Golden Community Center as a contractor to teach Zumba. Since I have worked in Golden since the early 2000s, most of my clientele are from Golden, Evergreen, Lakewood, and Wheat Ridge. I am a Colorado native, raised on the Western Slope, and came to Denver to attend the University of Denver in 1985. The Denver metro area is my home.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?
I was awarded AAAI/ISMA Mid West Regional Trainer of the year award in 2015. I have been blessed with the opportunity to really do what I love, changing people’s lives for the better. Plus, I get to stay healthy doing what I do!

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or breweries in our community?
I love all the fun little haunts in Golden but especially D’Deli and Golden City Brewery! I have been a long-time regular at D’Deli and believe that Al has a way with food combos! I haven’t had a sandwich there that I didn’t absolutely love!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have worked in west Denver and Golden for 23 years.

Q: What is one of your favorite hiking or biking trails?
Ha! I have a very physical job so I am always too tired to hit the trails! When we lived in Wheat Ridge, we would often bike into Golden for a day of fun! We still like to come into Golden, but we now drive to Tony Grampsas park and ride in from there.

Q: What advice would you give to yourself 10 years ago?
BUY PROPERTY IN GOLDEN! I wish we would have purchased property in Golden when we could have afforded it! I would give anything to be permanently part of the community.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I have very fond memories of Golden City Brewery, getting sandwiches at D’Deli and going to the brewery to sit in the sun! Since my Zumba group has done a flash mob at downtown Golden’s Trick or Treat Street for the past 10+ years, I also have fond memories of antics at Ace Hi!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the vitality of the Golden Community Center. Seniors in the community center are unlike any other seniors I have seen around the metro area! They are ANIMALS!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My clients inspire me. I have aged right along with my clientele, and they keep me honest and motivated to be the best that I can be for them!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Mountains, great weather, Golden
