Hi, I’m Jessie! I own and operate Snow Loaf Bakery, a cottage bakery specializing in focaccia right here in Golden.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?

My background is in working for local government, but opening a bakery has been my dream for a long time. To me, baking is about community and about joy – it is about sharing something made with love with the people around you; it is about finding the time to indulge in the simplicity of a four-ingredient loaf of focaccia or the extravagance of a jam-filled cupcake; and it is about bringing people together and building memories. I opened Snow Loaf in 2024, while I continue to work at my day job, because there is no time better than now to take the first step. Golden already has an abundance of community and joy, and I am excited to see how Snow Loaf can grow here and add to those feelings.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or breweries in our community?
There are so many good ones to choose from! A couple that come to mind immediately are Mountain Toad Brewing, Sushi Uokura, Pho Golden, Xicamiti, Sherpa House, and Coda Brewing.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
My husband and I and our two dogs moved to Colorado in 2020, and we have fallen in love with this incredible city. We are both from LA originally, but Golden has captured our hearts with the balance between small town and vibrant city. From strolling around downtown to hiking all of the trails, we cannot imagine building our lives anywhere else.

Q: What is one of your favorite hiking or biking trails?
We live just off of the Fossil Trail Trailhead, so you can typically find me running on South Table Mountain.

Q: What advice would you give to yourself 10 years ago?
Don’t let fear hold you back – you can be scared of something and still do it.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The first time we ever visited Golden, before moving to Colorado, we went to the Visitor Center and the History Museum. The museum had an exhibit on Woody’s, and learning about that history will always draw a special connection between Golden and Woody’s for me.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love this community’s passion. From the arches, to the art, to the holiday lights, to the local businesses, everyone in this community is passionate about Golden and finds their own way to show it.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I do not like pickles. I don’t know if that is interesting, but everyone I have ever told has quite the reaction and a lot of questions for me.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My family. I want to be the best person I can be, for them.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, happiness, and comfort.
