Hello! I am Lora Knowlton! You can usually find me during the summer months at the Golden Welcome Center during the week and the Goldens Farmers Market on Saturdays! I love serving in Golden, and I have been doing so for more than 20 years. I appreciate all of the partnerships and collaboration that go into many of the events in Golden as well as amongst the businesses. I feel fortunate to work in the heart of Golden at the Golden Chamber of Commerce and the Golden Welcome Center. I see first-hand how both businesses serve in our community and support business and the local economy. I also enjoy all of the events I support and see the community experience and delight in them!
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?
For 20 years, I worked with the Colorado Events and Festivals Association. Then, I transitioned into my own event planning business, starting with the Mopar Block Party in Golden, and have been coordinating events all over Denver for 24 years now. I started assisting with Golden Fine Art Festival in 2018 and became a part-time staff member for the Golden Chamber in 2021. I also support the Golden Welcome Center as a contractor, coordinating their venue rentals. I enjoy building partnerships with businesses, vendors, and the like – especially in Golden. During COVID, I dove into genealogy research and have helped solve some family mysteries as of late. I recently received a Certificate of Investigative Genetic Genealogy and look forward to using those skills to help solve DNA genealogy mysteries.
