I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and first came to Colorado in the mid-’90s. My brother was going to CU, and I came out to visit and was hooked immediately. When I was applying to graduate school, I knew CU was the only place I really wanted to be. While life and jobs keep trying to take me away from this magical state, I keep finding my way back…I’m truly a mountain girl at heart! I have three kids, two cats and a dog, and we all are in love with the open and wild spaces all around us.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?
I’ve worked as a Physical Therapist for 25 years and a Pilates instructor for close to 20. During the pandemic, I decided to take the leap and open up my own office, Connect Physical Therapy and Pilates, to combine these two worlds. What I love most about my job is the ability to engage with so many amazing people in this community and help them feel better in their bodies. It’s such a gift to be in a trusted position where each and every day we get to help our clients work towards their goals.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or breweries in our community?
Abejas is definitely my favorite date-night spot, but we also love Ali Baba. Breweries – do I have to choose just one??

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I moved to Colorado in 1998 and have been in and out over the decades. My business in Golden is 4 years old.

Q: What is one of your favorite hiking or biking trails?
I love riding up South Table Mountain with my family and love getting out in Golden Gate Canyon park.

Q: What advice would you give to yourself 10 years ago?
I’d tell myself to remember that slowing down is just as important as pushing forward. Spend as much time in nature to remember to be in awe of your surroundings.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I have lots of great memories waiting in line at D’Deli after a great hike or bike ride 20 years ago and love that it’s still there today.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how “golden” Golden residents are. The strong sense of community makes it feel like a small town.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’d rather be sleeping in my tent than in my bed.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Honestly, each and every client that walks through our door. It is inspiring to see people work hard, overcome injuries, pain, and fears, and see them take on new challenges to do things they didn’t think were possible.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
family, peace, nature
