Hello! I’m a nurse with a deep passion for helping others and making a positive impact in my community. From the beautiful state of Colorado, I have a strong connection to the outdoors and enjoy spending my free time hiking, exploring, and soaking in the breathtaking mountain views. The balance between my work as a nurse and my love for nature helps me maintain a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle, and I find that the peace of the great outdoors fuels my dedication to providing compassionate care to those in need.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?
I started my career in college as a volleyball player, studying pre-medicine in Nebraska. I then moved back home, and I worked at an orthopedic sports clinic in Golden alongside a physician’s assistant and orthopedic surgeon. Primarily we focused on sports injuries. I went to nursing school at Denver College of Nursing while working at Griswold Homecare. Griswold helped me learn patience, working with family, and going the extra mile to make someone happy. I currently work at St. Anthonys in medical surgical trauma.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or breweries in our community?
My favorite breweries are New Terrain and Golden City Brewery. I love Miners Saloon, Snarfs, and Tafolino’s.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I am basically from Golden, have lived in Golden/Applewood area since I was about 10 years old.
Q: What is one of your favorite hiking or biking trails?
I like to hike/trail run the Mesa. I also like to hike South Table Mountain.
Q: What advice would you give to yourself 10 years ago?
You never know what someone is going through, be kind to them no matter what.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Woody’s, I grew up going there after games with my family. We would celebrate birthdays, the Golden candlelight walk, and important stepping stones in our family/friend’s lives.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how when going out in Golden you will always run into someone you know. I love the small community feel, the excitement for Mines football games, the Golden candlelight walk, and Goldens in Golden.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I ran a half marathon and am training for a “sprintathon.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My mom. She is the most powerful, kind, strong, and desiccated person I have ever met. She is giving, yet opinionated, and not afraid to be herself. She is the glue to our family and can make anyone feel special. She is truly my best friend.
