Hello, Golden! I’m the manager at New Terrain Brewing, and I was the first employee hired in 2016 a few months before we opened. Before New Terrain, I was the GM of Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza for 12 years. I have really enjoyed getting to know several Golden locals through these fine establishments that I have had the privilege to run. I love all the things Golden has to offer, especially the biking trails in our beautiful town. You may see me on my fat bike with my dog Coda—yes, named after another great brewery in town—riding along the river enjoying all that is Golden!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career/accomplishments. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been in the hospitality industry my entire career, starting at the age of 15 washing dishes at Pizza Hut. I worked my way up the ladder to become the youngest Pizza Hut Manager in franchise history, or at least at that time 😊. This foundation gave me the opportunity to run several businesses throughout the years and led me to these great companies in Golden. I love my job because I’m able to meet so many great people and manage awesome like-minded staff.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or breweries in our community?
My wife, Christina, and I love going to Cast Iron, Trailhead and, of course, Woody’s. Being in the beer industry, I love going to all the Golden breweries, and cheers to all of you that make them successful.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
22 years in Golden

Q: What is one of your favorite hiking or biking trails?
South Table Mesa is in our backyard, so we access those trails all the time. Apex, Lair o’ the Bear, and Maryland Mountain are some great mountain biking trails. There was another section of the Peak to Plains trail recently opened; I can’t wait until that goes all the way to the Continental Divide!

Q: What advice would you give to yourself 10 years ago?
To not sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Golden City Brewery is where we met a lot of the community when we first moved here. My daughter grew up playing on the toy train in the beer garden as we listened to locals pick their instruments by the fire.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I feel like I’m part of something more living in Golden. I’m not just another person in town; I’m part of a community.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don't know about you?
I started the Golden Bike Cruise in 2005 while working at Woody’s. This family-friendly community bike ride is still going on to this day with Bob’s Atomic Burgers serving up the grub, New Terrain pouring the beer, and local bands throwing down the jams!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My daughter, Addison! She is so amazing and teaches me daily how to be a better person. Things have changed a lot since I was a teenager, and she helps guide me through it all.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Safe, Comfort, and Community
